File attachments in Ask Avoma | How to attach, reference, and reason over files in your AI conversations
Bring your own files into any Ask Avoma conversation and reason over them alongside your meeting and deal context.
Ask Avoma has always been powerful for querying your meetings, deals, and accounts. Now you can bring external files into the conversation too. Upload a pricing sheet, a legal agreement, a product brief, or any other document, and Ask Avoma will read and reason over it, just like it does with your meeting and deal context.
This means you can ask questions, extract summaries, and combine file insights with internal Avoma data in a single prompt, without any copy-pasting.

What you can do with attachments
Once a file is attached, you can ask Ask Avoma to work with it in the same prompt as your internal Avoma data. Some examples:
- Cross-reference a pricing sheet against your deal history
- Summarize key obligations from a contract or legal agreement
- Extract action items or key points from a product brief
- Compare a competitive document against your recent account call notes
- Ask questions about a CSV or spreadsheet alongside your meeting data
Tip: For best results, be specific in your prompt about what you want Ask Avoma to do with the file.
For example: "Summarize the key obligations in this contract and flag anything relevant to the deals I’ve had this quarter."
Frequently asked questions
Do my files persist after I close the chat?
No. Attached files are scoped to the current chat session only. When you start a new Ask Avoma conversation, you will need to re-upload any files you want to reference.
Is my file data sent to any third-party services?
No. Files are handled entirely within Avoma’s infrastructure. There are no third-party file APIs involved, and no compromise on Avoma’s data retention guarantees.
What file types are supported?
Ask Avoma currently supports PDFs, images, plain text files (.txt), Word documents (.docx), and CSV files. Other file formats are not supported at this time.
Can I attach multiple files in one message?
You can attach files to your chat session and reference them in your prompts. For the most accurate results, include a clear prompt describing what you want Ask Avoma to do with each file.
Can Ask Avoma combine what’s in the file with my Avoma meeting or deal data?
Yes. Ask Avoma reads the attached file alongside your existing meeting, deal, and account context. You can ask a single question that spans both the document and your internal Avoma data.
