How to set up automated Avoma meeting alerts in Microsoft Teams

This setup ensures that the right people get the right updates without needing to search through recordings, notes, or dashboards.

Prerequisites:

Only a Microsoft Teams Admin and an Avoma admin can install and configure this integration.
You’ll need access to your Microsoft Azure Active Directory to retrieve your Tenant ID.

Step 1: Go to Avoma’s Microsoft Teams Integration Page

Log in to your Avoma account.
Navigate to Settings > Integrations in the left sidebar and select Microsoft Teams.

Step 2: Provide your Microsoft Tenant ID (One-time Setup)

Open Azure Active Directory and navigate to Microsoft Entra ID.
Copy the Tenant ID and paste it into Avoma’s Microsoft Teams setup page.

This step ensures Avoma can authenticate with your organization’s Teams instance.
Once added, you don’t need to repeat this unless your Tenant ID changes.

Step 3: Download the Avoma App Package

From Avoma’s setup page, click the Download app.
This custom package is required for Microsoft Teams to recognize and install the Avoma app.

Step 4: Upload the Avoma App in Teams Admin Center

Go to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.

In the left menu, open the Teams Apps section.
Select Manage your apps.
Click Upload a custom app under Actions.
Upload the Avoma app package you downloaded in Step 3.

Step 5: Add Avoma to specific teams

Under Manage apps in the Teams Admin Center, select the newly installed app and click Add to team.

Note: Setup is per Team, not organization-wide.
If you want Avoma alerts in multiple Teams (e.g., Sales, Leadership, Product), you’ll need to repeat this step for each Team.

Step 6: Verify installation in Avoma

Return to Avoma’s Microsoft Teams integration page.
Under Teams where the Avoma app has been installed, you’ll see a list of all connected Teams and channels.
- Example: Leadership (2 channel), Sales (1 channel).

This section confirms where automated meeting alerts are currently active.

Once setup is complete, Avoma will start posting alerts for meetings into the connected Teams and channels.
