Update Notes to the existing Events in Salesforce for meetings booked via Chili Piper
How it works
- You need to create a custom form field under the Chili Piper booking form to create the unique meeting identifier for the meetings booked.
- The unique identifier should be dynamic and unique for each new meeting booked.
- You can call it booking_id
- You can read more here about how to pass the unique ID to this field in Chili Piper.
- Rescheduled events will have the same booking_id present
- Meetings scheduled via Chili Piper will have a unique "booking_id" present in its calendar description
- Read about how to create and configure it with Chili Piper here.
- You then need to create a custom field under the Salesforce Event object. For example, you can call it chili_booking_id
- Now you need to map the chili piper custom field booking_id with the salesforce custom field chili_booking_id
- Now meetings scheduled via chili piper will have a unique "booking_id" present in its calendar description and the same booking_id will be present in the salesforce event's custom field.
- Now you need to share the chili piper custom form field key “booking_id” and salesforce custom field “chili_booking_id” it’s mapped to with Avoma. You can email us this so we can configure this in our backend.
- So when Avoma syncs the notes to CRM (Salesforce in this case) we look for the booking_id from the calendar's metadata (say description) and then we look for the event in Salesforce with that booking_id in the event’s description.
- In this manner, you will not see duplicate events in Salesforce against a single meeting; only one event gets created and only that event gets updated with the Avoma meeting notes.
If you’re looking to reduce this work and save $20-25/seat/month Chili Piper cost you’ve got Avoma scheduler to your rescue. Avoma scheduler does all that any scheduling tool like Chili Piper/ Canlendly can do and we do some more things as well.
Meetings booked via Avoma scheduler do not create duplicate events in Salesforce and update the Avoma meeting notes to the existing Salesforce event.
