How do users connect Microsoft Teams Cloud Recording to Avoma?

Connect your calendar and the Microsoft Teams app so your Microsoft Teams meetings record and sync to Avoma.

With Avoma's Microsoft Cloud Recording integration, your Microsoft Teams meetings record and sync to Avoma with less setup and fewer manual steps than before.

Important: Recording meetings in Microsoft Teams requires a cloud recording license. Supported licenses include Office 365 Enterprise E1, E3, E5, F3, A1, A3, A5, Microsoft 365 Business, Business Premium, and Business Essentials. For the current list of supported licenses, see Microsoft’s help articles: Record a meeting in Microsoft Teams and Manage meeting recording options.

NOTE: If your organization's admin has already set up a company-wide Microsoft Workspace connection, you don't need to complete the steps in this article yourself. Check with your admin before starting.

How do individual users connect their calendar?

This step is required for every Avoma user who wants to turn on Microsoft Cloud Recording.

  1. Follow the instructions in this article to connect either your Microsoft or Google calendar.
The email address you use to connect your calendar must match the one you use for the Microsoft Cloud Recording integration on the Recording and Conferencing screen. This is covered in the next section.

  2. If you use Google Calendar, install the Microsoft Teams add-on for Google Workspace. This lets you create and update Microsoft Teams meeting links directly from your calendar invites.

How do individual users connect the Microsoft Teams app in Avoma?

This step is required for every Avoma user who wants to turn on Microsoft Cloud Recording.

Every user has to consent to let Avoma download recorded Microsoft meetings from the Microsoft cloud. Follow these steps whether you're a new or existing Avoma user.

  1. Click Settings at the bottom left of your screen, or go directly to Recording & Conferencing.

  3. Accept the authentication dialog box that pops up. This turns on your cloud recording. Select the checkbox labeled “Consent on behalf of your organization”, then click Accept.

  4. You’ll see a confirmation that Avoma is successfully connected to Microsoft Teams.

  5. You can then configure your bot settings. Bot settings let you control how the Avoma Assistant appears in meetings and how participants are notified that a meeting is being recorded.

For more information, see Configure Avoma bot settings.

Important: If you're the first Avoma user in your organization to connect the Microsoft Teams Cloud Recording app, coordinate with your Microsoft admin.

Your admin will need to enable automatic recording and transcription in the Microsoft 365 admin center and also complete Microsoft's admin consent workflow before this will work for your account.
